Now that The CW is well into debuting its Fall 2016 primetime lineup, the DC Comics-based series following Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), Supergirl, has officially moved to its new network after airing its first season on CBS last year. Supergirl joins fellow CW superhero series Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow - but, as it was established in the crossover with The Flash last season, Kara’s National City exists in a different universe than the rest of the Arrowverse. Nonetheless, Supergirl will join her fellow CW heroes this fall in a major four-show crossover event.
In terms of the big crossover, production on the episodes began late last month, confirmed by a number of photos posted by cast members of the various series - many of which featuring the latest addition to The CW’s Arrowverse, the Girl of Steel herself. Now, Arrowverse producer Andrew Kreisberg previews the reactions of many of the heroes to the Kryptonian alien superhero with god-like abilities during the crossover.
During a screening of Supergirl’s next episode, Kreisberg told reporters including ComicBook.com, “There’s fun interactions, and it’s exciting. Every time we get those dailies and we see them all together, it’s just insanity.” Additionally, Kreisberg teased specific reactions from Sara Lance aka White Canary (Caity Lotz) and John Diggle (David Ramsey):
I think some people like Barry already know her, so Barry’s completely cool with her. I think some people are instantly charmed by her — I think Sara’s got a little crush on her. [John Diggle], as always… just when he think he’s seen it all, you know? There’s a moment in it where somebody says ‘This is Supergirl,’ and it’s like ‘What’s so super about her?’ She just lifts off the ground and Dig’s like, ‘I’m convinced.’
However, not all the heroes will respond positively to Supergirl’s presence in their world. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who has dealt with a number of both scientific and magical threats throughout the first four seasons of Arrow, won’t necessarily welcome Kara to the team with open arms. Kreisberg said:
Certainly, given the differing mentalities of Oliver and Kara - he has a darker outlook on life while she is more upbeat and positive - it makes sense for their characters to have a rocky introduction. Additionally, given how he has reacted to taking on a new team in the early episodes of season 5, it falls in line with the character to be wary of someone new, especially someone with Kara’s Kryptonian skill-set. Still, on the whole Kreisberg indicates the majority of The CW heroes will have entertaining reactions to Supergirl that are sure to delight fans once the crossover debuts later this year.
With Oliver, part of Oliver’s journey in these episodes is, he’s kind of hit his breaking point with things he’s willing to accept. He’s had Mirakuru soldiers and the Lazarus Pit and magic with Damien Darhk, but flying aliens who can incinerate you with their eyes is beyond the pale for him. So he sort of keeps his distance, which is a very Oliver thing to do. He keeps his distance, and Kara comments, ‘Does he not like me?’ And Barry’s like, ‘No, that’s kind of how he treats everybody.’

Supergirl season 2 airs Mondays at 8pm on The CW, The Flash season 3 airs Tuesdays in the same timeslot, Arrow season 5 on Wednesdays, and Legends of Tomorrow season 2 premieres on Thursday October 13.
